"I am so happy and grateful that I found Emily. She’s been working with my young horse and the growth and changes that I have seen in my mare are incredible. Emily listens to the horses and respectfully encourages them in their learning like no one I’ve ever seen. She has an understanding of the physical mechanics of the horse and then applies it in this way that is very instinctual and respectful. My mare seems to love her too! I can’t wait to continue into her second year of training. The balance and movement have improved so much already, but what really impresses me most is Emily’s energy and way of being with the horses.
I also take lessons for my own riding, and really appreciate the way Emily works with me. I always come away with a lot of learning, understanding and awareness without any judgment or feeling criticized. The information that is shared with me during the lessons is so thorough, and makes so much sense because it relates directly to how the horse is also working. So I am learning a lot about my own horse at the same time as I am learning about my own posture, position and seat. Emily is just all around amazing!"

"Emily has worked with my filly Epona and me for over a year. I could not ask for a better trainer for us. She is understanding of Epona, her strengths and weaknesses, as well as my own. Emily is helping me take an over-reactive filly, and help her understand how to manage herself under stress. Her focus has been on Epona managing her own body and emotions. Working on connection, and cleaning up communication between myself and my horse has been very helpful. Emily calls me on things I need to work on, recognizes my improvement, and helps me recognize my own strength. She is very knowledgeable about a lot of training styles, yet she continues to push herself to learn new ways to meet the needs of her clients’ horses, as well as her own. I am grateful she has been part of my journey with Epona. I can’t recommend her enough."

"Emily Enomoto is a knowledgeable, well-rounded instructor. She is hands-on with both horse and rider, understanding and teaching the rider how to prepare a horse for athletic demands and/or how to overcome physical limitations. She has been especially good with my mare who has had some challenges due to an old injury. Emily has taught me how to release tension, stretch my horse, and do groundwork exercises that benefit strength, flexibility, and training concepts.
I’ve also learned more extensive warm-ups under saddle. My horse is much happier because
Emily has taught me how to be in tune with the whole horse. My mare has visibly improved her entire body and way of going because of this well-rounded education.
Emily is very clear in her instruction. She explains concepts well and works within the rider’s personal goals. She builds lessons in a logical way and doesn’t move on to new training until the horse and rider are ready for it. She is able to pivot and try different ways of explaining if I don’t understand. Emily also ties in groundwork to riding, which is one of the most important concepts for success. Also I love her flexibility - she will work your horse for you or do bodywork if you are unable to ride for a lesson. We have rarely missed a session because of this flexibility.
Emily is always going to clinics, attending local veterinary seminars, and reading about her profession and looking out for shows, clinics etc. that I would like to attend and work toward my goals. Her passion about improving the whole horse and rider has been so motivating and positive to work with!"

"I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible guidance and support I’ve received from Emily. From the moment we started working together, I realized that Emily has a natural talent for understanding both horse and rider, creating a safe and supportive environment that makes me feel empowered every step of the way. She has not only transformed the way I think about training, but has also helped me overcome confidence issues stemming from years of on and off riding with little professional training.
Emily is patient and knowledgeable, bringing a level of expertise and care that makes every session positive and motivating. She not only helped me, but she also provides the best possible care and training for my horse. Having purchased a green horse, under her guidance my horse has flourished and I’m slowly growing into a more confident and capable rider. Due to life and busy schedules, my husband and I have limited time to spend with our horses, but I look forward to the days when I train with Emily. Even after difficult sessions, we end on a positive note and I leave feeling a sense of accomplishment that I learned something new.
Emily's ability to communicate clearly with both the rider and horse has made a world of difference for us. I’m continually impressed by the attention to detail and the personalized approach Emily takes with each session. Whether it’s providing top-notch horse care, teaching advanced techniques, or simply offering the reassurance I need, Emily has been an exceptional mentor and trainer. I cannot recommend her highly enough for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and effective trainer."

"As a new rider, I was nervous and unsure of how to begin my journey with horses, but working with Emily has made all the difference. From the very first lesson, she was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging, creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment for me.
Emily takes the time to understand my concerns and tailors our sessions to my skill level, making each lesson both fun and educational. Her expertise in horsemanship shines through in every lesson, and she has a unique ability to explain even the most complex techniques in a way that’s easy to understand.
Thanks to Emily's guidance, I’ve gained confidence as a rider and developed a deep appreciation for the care and connection required to work with horses. Additionally, I know that I'm receiving the best possible care for my horse. I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer to guide me through this process."

"There are so many wonderful things about Emily and her rehabilitation program at Howling Wind Farms. Our young horse was having issues when being asked for lead changes, which included kicking out and bucking. There had been several falls off the horse, but one bad fall for my daughter at a horse show ended up with a trip to the ER and a child who was scared physically and emotionally to ride her horse. An extensive lameness workup did not reveal any obvious reasons for the behavior besides soreness in the lower back.
I am so thankful that I found Emily, from our initial correspondence, she was more than willing to come see our horse at the barn and see the issues firsthand while the horse. She had a plan on how she would approach our issues, after a hands-on assessment Emily found other areas of soreness/compensation in our horse beyond her lower back. This led us to finding arthritis in her SI joint and lower back. Emily also suggested an evaluation by her myo-fascial therapist and chiropractor team.
Emily’s tailored gentle approach doesn’t just focus on the physical issues the horse may be having, but also their emotional health, with ample group turnout and time to let them decompress. For our situation, the end goal is to get my daughter willing and comfortable riding her horse again, and hopefully back to Hunter competitions. Emily keeps me informed weekly with text and videos (when possible), of what she’s been working on and what the next steps will be. Together we’ve come to the conclusion of a gentle/slow restart for the horse and rider is what is best.
Emily has been very empathetic to my teenager’s fear and apprehension. We try to get out for a weekly lesson, which sometimes is just walking and trotting, with some nudges to help my daughter be a little braver, trust her horse again, and regain her own confidence. I feel that Emily's program not only has the horse's well-being in mind, but also helps the rider/owner reach their desired partnership."
